Food Distribution Services
St. Alphonsus is happy to announce that we have partnered with Kids Food Basket and have begun distributing food bags to children in need this past week. If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, please feel free to send them over to St. Alphonsus on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 11:00am-noon at the end of the circle drive. 107 Kids Food Basket bagged meals were handed out today, Wednesday, April 1. We are thankful to see so many organizations come together and help our community.
Our Food Pantry is also open at this time. However, we can’t have people come in to shop on their own. Instead, we greet our customers at the door and then food bags will be put together and brought out to them. The Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00am-1:00pm and Tuesday from 9:00am-12:30pm. 400 bags of food have been handed out since Monday, March 23. Thank you to the Social Concerns Department and the awesome volunteers to help hand out food to the community in this time.
Finally, our first St. Al's food truck of the year will be in the parking lot across from the church on Tuesday, April 7 at 5:00pm. We will not be distributing numbers but instead doing a drive thru or walk-up style. Drivers please enter into the lot located next the apartment complex and walkers line up along the sidewalk on the opposite side of the lot. Boxes will be prepacked to whatever is on the truck and handed out by a volunteer. If you are walking, please make sure to stand at least 6 feet apart to stay in the guidelines of social distancing. Please share with anyone that could use some extra food resources. We hope to see you there!
