Mysteries of Easter
Dear sisters & brothers in Christ,
I pray that you are blessed. I hope you were able to attend at least a part of our parish mission. If not, you can still view it on our Facebook & Web pages. As we mention, this is the first time this mission model has ever been used and we are eager to hear what you think of it. While a number of Redemptorists, including myself, have created different mission models. This one was specially designed for the new generation of Redemptorists and of course, anyone else who wants to use it. To that end, our streaming equipment came in very handy, as we had Redemptorists across the country joining us via the internet. By Tuesday morning over 550 people (or households) had viewed the first night. I want to once again thank Frs. Tom and Paul for presenting the mission, as well as, all of our parishioners who took part, especially the choir. Music plays such an integral role in it, so it just would not have been a success without them. Of course, a special thanks goes out to Carol for all of her hard work and dedication. Hopefully, the mission has helped prepare you for what lies before us, the great Paschal Mysteries of Easter.
As we come to the end of another Lenten pilgrimage we prepare ourselves to celebrate the great mysteries of Jesus’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Jesus’ birth was the Incarnation of The Word of God coming into the world, and we proclaimed, “God has visited His people!” The mysteries of Easter are the manifestation of the Love & Mercy of God. Our God made real and tangible for us.
God’s Love & Mercy will be broken and shared on The Table of The Lamb.
God’s Love & Mercy will hang upon The Cross.
And, God’s Love & Mercy will RISE on Easter and be a gift for the whole world.
Let us celebrate these coming days with all of the energy, enthusiasm and joy that they are due.
Let the church shout, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna to King Jesus!!!”
In the Redeemer, Fr. Rick
