Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
The Holy Week liturgies were absolutely wonderful this year. THANKS to all the liturgical ministries for outstanding giving of yourselves: the servers, the lectors, the Eucharistic ministers, the ushers, the cantors, choirs, and the musicians. You all made our liturgies devout, beautiful and fitting praise to our God.
Thanks go out in a very special way to Gayle Pohl, the choir and musicians for a fantastic presentation of “His Last Days” on Palm Sunday. It was a very moving and faith-filled event which touched so many people to even move them to tears. The prayers that many people asked the clergy to pray for them and over them were deep and heartfelt. The Holy Spirit was truly present! Thanks to Dan and Julie Arganbright for the beautiful slides that accompanied the presentation. You all can be proud of what you gave our parish through “His Last Days.”
Thanks are in order to Jodie Deschaine and her dedicated crew of helpers who decorated the church throughout Lent and Holy Week. Changing banners and decorating the altar and cleaning vestments are just a few of the things that get done behind the scenes to assure we have a beautiful atmosphere within which to worship. The Easter decorations are beautiful! Thank you!
Another group of parishioners came in Holy Saturday morning and cleaned all the pews and doors and just gave the church that fresh smell! Thank you!
And a final word of thanks to our Knights of Columbus who prepared the new fire for the Easter Vigil service and provided ample and delicious refreshments after the service. You outdid yourselves….the presentation and different delicacies were well received by all. Thanks, Knights of Columbus.
All these volunteers make St. Al’s a warm and beautiful parish! My personal THANKS to all of you who give so generously and constantly! May God bless you all with His joy and deep peace. May your example inspire others to become involved and increase our ministries.
God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!
Blessings, Fr. Pat,C.Ss.R.
