Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Next Sunday, May 20th, during the 9:00am Mass, we will baptize Nora Jean Fossel, the baby daughter of AJ and Zan Fossel. AJ is our parish Social Concerns Director and well known to all of us. It has been a long time since we have had a baptism during mass. The baptismal liturgy will take place after the Gospel and replace the Creed. What a wonderful opportunity to welcome a new member into God’s family!
Also next Sunday, during the 11:00am Mass we will have our annual Baccalaureate ceremony. We will honor our parish High School graduates. It is a wonderful time in their lives and we want to acknowledge their achievements. We wish them well in their future endeavors, especially if they are pursuing higher education. We assure them of our prayers and support and will always welcome them home to St. Al’s. Congratulations, Seniors!
During this 11:00am Mass we will also give out awards to two of our students from All Saints Academy. Each student will receive a $500 tuition scholarship for the 2017-2018 school year. The students are nominated for their service at ASA or for their social concern and awareness of helping others. Besides the scholarship, they will be given a certificate and recognition of their achievements and dedication. Congratulations to these two ASA students from St. Al’s!
Blessings to all you mothers on this Mother’s Day! May Mary, the mother of Jesus, surround you with deepest joy and blessings for your selfless giving of your love and care for your families! May Jesus fill you with gentle love always.
Gratefully, Fr. Pat, C.Ss.R.
