First Profession of Vows – August 1

All are welcome to the first profession of vows of Aaron Meszaros into the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer on August 1, 2010, at the 11:00 am Mass. A luncheon in the Parish Center will follow the Mass. Please bring a dish to pass.

Blessing for Arthritics Video – August 1

On Sunday, August 1st, the Feast Day of St. Alphonsus Liguori, founder of the Redemptorists, we will be offering a special blessing through his intercession for those suffering from arthritis and other serious physical ailments. The blessing will be offered after each Mass along with prayer cards. There will be a short prayer after every Mass to ask the intercession of St. Alphonsus, who himself suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis that left him permanently bent forward and wheelchair bound.

If you cannot attend the Blessing but would still like to receive a prayer card, you can go download a copy of the prayer at the link below or call the Redemptorist development office at 303-565-5450 to request a copy. A link to a video blessing is also included below.

Feast of St. Alphonsus – July 31 Mass

Please join us for Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on July 31 at 10:00 amas we celebrate the Feast of St. Alphonsus Liguori. Please bring a lawn chair. We will gather at the grave sites of our Redemptorists.

Youth Group Pool Party – July 11

If you went to see a registered dietician about weight loss it would cost you $100 or more, but at St. Al’s it is FREE! Please join Melanie Ross, RD and your St. Al’s family on May 13th in the Parish Center at 6:30 pm. Enter through the doors closest to the Rectory and follow the signs. Come and learn how to care for your body-Christ’s temple.

St. Al’s Cancer Support Group – May 11

St. Alphonsus Catholic support group is a ministry of faith support through prayer and inspiration for adults who have cancer, are cancer survivors, or who are caregivers of a loved one who has cancer. All are welcome.

Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Carrier Crest Building, 205 Carrier St. NE. The next meeting is May 11 and the topic will be “Brokenness through Cancer.” Contact Br. Andy Patin, C.Ss.R. at 616-913-4413.

Spring Cleaning – April 28

Volunteers are needed to give our church a good cleaning from pews to hymnals, confessionals, bathrooms. Mark your calendars and bring your rags. We will provide buckets and cleaning supplies. We will have two cleaning teams on April 28th from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm. If you have any questions, please call Lori Martin 913-4408 or email lmartin@catholicweb.com.

St. Al’s Cooking Class – April 26

The last St. Al’s Cooking Class of the season is Monday, April 26th at 6:00 pm in the St. Al’s kitchen. This month’s focus is all about getting ready for Cinco de Mayo.

The Schrums will start us off with a special Jicama Salad. The Fortiers and Sheas will teach us how to prepare the rest of the delectable dishes for a Mexican fiesta!

You can taste it all for a class fee of $10. Contact Dayna Bearss at gdriders@att.net or 365-1988 to reserve your seat. Reservations must be made by April 22nd. Seating is limited, so RSVP soon. The $10 fee will be collected at the door.

St. Al’s Parish Garage Sale – April 23 & 24
